Observations on the Best College Dorm rankings:

  • All schools in the list are private schools.

  • Three of the Top 10 are all women's colleges (Smith, Scripps, and Bryn Mawr). Four if you count the fact that Bennington College was founded in 1932 as a women's college, but became co-educational in 1969.

  • None of the 10 most expensive college dorms made this list of best dorms, proving the more you spend does not necessarily get you "the best".
